The Ontario Provincial Police are raising concerns after a number of drug overdoses have been reported in our region.
They specifically point to the number of reported opioid-related deaths at hospitals in Barrie and Bracebridge in the past couple of months.
OPP believe the culprit is bootleg fentanyl being mixed into illegal street drugs
They are advising anyone to learn the signs of drug overdoses by going to the Simcoe and Muskoka District Health Unit's website.
OPP are also informing the public that there are naloxone kits available to take home free without a prescription.
