Simcoe County has its first case of West Nile virus this year.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit advises you to continue to protect you and your family against mosquito bites.
This after laboratory results confirmed a positive human case of West Nile virus in the county.
The health unit says its investigation has not be able to verify where the person contracted the disease since there had been some travel to areas outside the province where mosquitoes were present.
Health officials say early fall is the time when the risk of getting West Nile from a bite increases.
