The Ontario government is giving some grants to two hospitals in Simcoe County.
MPP for Barrie Ann Hoggarth made the announcement Monday in Alliston on behalf of the Minister of Health and Long Term Care Dr. Eric Hoskins.
The government says there are two planning grants , one for Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston and the other for Collingwood General and Marine hospital.
Each will be getting up to $500,000 for expansion projects.
Stevenson's proposal includes additions built for the current facility, modernizing infrastructure for things like inpatient units, emergency services, and surgical and diagnostic services.
The proposal for Collingwood would be to redevelop the entire facility to better meet the needs of residents.
