A Collingwood council committee wants to wait before selling any town-owned property in the waterfront area.
On Monday night, the Development and Operations Services Standing Committee decided to recommend that full council inform developer Steve Assaff of Charis Developments Limited that decisions regarding the sale of such property be deferred until a Waterfront Master Plan is completed.
Assaff wants to purchase what’s known as Block 9, a small piece of property to the right of the Bank of Montreal building on Huron Street.
The Waterfront Master Plan will likely get started in the fall.
