The family of a young man from Stayner who was stabbed over the Christmas holidays has a lofty fundraising goal.
On Christmas Eve, OPP were called about an injured person found on a trail in Oro Medonte. Michel Linke was taken to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.
A crowdfunding page for Linke has been set up on gofundme.com. His grandmother Frieda Linke set up the account and says Michael was stabbed multiple times and left for dead on a trail. She says he has wounds to his thumb, nose, ear, chest, back, neck, hands and arms. Linke adds her grandson will need ongoing therapy for physical and emotional trauma and she is hoping to fundraise the costs.
The goal is 50 thousand dollars and so far just over nine hundred dollars has been raised.
Two men from Clearview Township have been charged with attempted murder in Linke’s beating.
