A new doctor is opening up a practice in Wasaga Beach.
Dr. Randall Mintz will be tasked with taking on patients left without a medical practitioner after Dr. James McInnis was suspended.
Dr. Mintz tells us the government does what is called a batch transfer which means that the 18 hundred patients registered to Dr. McInnis are transferred to Dr. Mintz.
But Randall Mintz says that doesn't mean he is automatically their doctor.
Starting on Monday, February 3, patients of Dr. McInnis can call the new office at 940 Mosley Street (705-429-4801) to set up an appointment to meet Dr. Mintz.
The patient then has six months to decide if it's a good fit and the new doctor has the same time limit to decide if the patient is right for him.
If patients of Dr. McInnis don't call the new office within six months, they are dropped off the roster.
Also at this new practice is Dr. Wes Clayden who is being transferred the patient list of Barb and Rainer Loiskandl who are retiring from their practice in Midland.
