The Town of Collingwood is introducing an online Public Portal for the electronic submission of applications and payments.
“The Town’s new Public Portal provides an online option for submitting and paying for various building permits, applications and dog tags,” says Greg Miller, Town of Collingwood Chief Building Official. “We want to streamline our services and providing more options for users, especially for those who continue to work-from-home, is a top priority.”
The Town’s new Public Portal allows registered users to complete the following:
Animal Licensing
Pay, renew, and manage your dog tag
Building Permits
Submit and pay for your building permit, track the status of your permit application, and submit drawings and letters directly to your application
Building Inspections
When a permit is issued, you can schedule your inspection through the web portal, contact the Building Inspector assigned to your inspections, view inspection results, and cancel requested inspection(s)
By-law Complaints
Submit a by-law complaint and track the status of your by-law complaint from the submission date
Compliance Letters
Submit and pay for a request for a building permit file compliance letter for real estate transactions, track the status of your compliance letter and download and manage your letters where you have multiple letters or properties
The online process will guide users through a step-by-step registration, showing users how to create an account, make a payment, or submit an application. Users will be supplied with a checklist to ensure all the required information is provided. Registrants will be able to view the status of their requests online, anytime.
“This technology-focused solution represents an opportunity for us to make significant efficiency improvements in the delivery of our services to all members of our community. People will have access to these services 24/7 at their own convenience rather than making multiple trips to our office,” states Greg Miller.
Please note that the current online submission process is being phased out and all permit applications will be required to be submitted though the new Public Portal.
