A Wasaga Beach employee at town hall has tested positive for COVID-19.
The town says it learned of the positive test Friday and immediately contacted the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit.
It says the employee started self-isolating at home on Wednesday and is following the direction of public health, which has completed contact tracing.
The town says the employee was following protocols in place while in the workplace and contracted the virus during non-work hours.
The staff member’s immediate colleagues are working remotely as a precaution, while the area where the employee works has undergone enhanced disinfection.
