Collingwood’s new on-demand transit service starts rolling Saturday.
The pilot project has no fixed route or schedule, and allows riders to book a ride seven days or 30 minutes in advance and get on the bus at a designated stop.
Initially, the on-demand service will be offered only on weekends, but the town plans to expand it to full-time in the future.
One bus will be designated on-demand, and two others will operate on their normal routes and schedule.
Riders are able to book a ride by phone, online or via an app. The pilot project is only for Colltrans buses, not the bus to Blue Mountain Village.
