The OPP has charged a man after a robbery at restaurant in Collingwood overnight.
At about 7:50 pm April 10th, Collingwood and Blue Mountains OPP responded to a complaint that a man with his face disguised, entered a restaurant on Hurontario Street with an edged weapon and demanded cash and threatening the staff.
The male took the cash from the register and fled the scene on foot. Officers attended the scene while other officers searched the area for the suspect. An officer arrested a male matching the description of the suspect a short distance away. A cash from the robbery was recovered from the male.
A 37-year-old male from Barrie has been charged with:
· Robbery with a weapon; and
· Wear a disguise with Intent to Commit an indictable offence.
The accused is being held in custody for a bail hearing and will be scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood, at a future date.
