The OPP and the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit have issued a drug alert.
Officials say there is an extremely toxic drug on the streets known as “red down”.
It is believed to be a form of fentanyl with animal tranquilizers and or benzodiazepines added in.
It causes extreme sedation and the risk of breathing cessation.
The Health unit says there has been a higher than usual number of suspected drug-related deaths across Simcoe and Muskoka in recent days.
