Thirty-three people have been arrested and charged with a combined 136 criminal offences during a proactive child sexual exploitation investigation. Two of the arrested men are from Barrie.
In all 23 police services across Ontario participated with officers accessing online chatrooms and social media applications to identify, locate and arrest people looking to sexually exploit children.
Police say all of the accused are male and range in age from 16-67.
One-hundred and eighty-six devices were seized and police say 36 investigations are still ongoing.
