The volunteer committee for the 7th annual Relay For Life in The Blue Mountains is happy with the results.
More than 125 people participated in the 12 hour fundraiser at the Beaver Valley Community Centre on Friday night.
Volunteer Event Chair Barb McMullen says they raised more than 27 thousand dollars ($27,400) for the Canadian Cancer Society.
This brings the 7 year total of the event in Thornbury to almost 260 thousand dollars.
The money raised will help the Cancer Society fund research, implement prevention programs and provide local services to cancer patients and their families.
There are three other Relay For Life events taking place in Grey Bruce — in Kincardine, Hanover and Owen Sound.
