There will be a lot of weeds pulled this weekend at the waterfront in Collingwood, as the Conservation Authority takes aim at Phragmites along the Collingwood shoreline.
Groups of volunteers will be removing the invasive weed at Sunset Park, Harbourview Park, and the Hen and Chickens Trail.
David Featherstone of the NVCA says they’re tracking the weed, and in areas where it’s been cut down each summer, it’s spreading less quickly the following year.
They’re still looking for volunteers – and are asking you to bring your own hand pruners if you have them. More information is at the NVCA website
