The Town of Wasaga Beach’s annual Toys for Tickets campaign has begun.
Every person who receives a parking ticket – with the exception of accessibility parking violations – is eligible to participate in the program. In lieu of paying a fine, parking ticket recipients have an alternative option of purchasing a toy and bringing it to town hall at 30 Lewis St.
Bring the toy to the Municipal Law Enforcement Department during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. until December 13th.
The value of the toy must be equal to or exceed the amount of the parking ticket. Please include the receipt for the toy as well as your parking ticket. In addition, the toy must be unwrapped and in its original packaging. People can donate more than one toy – in relation to their fine – as long as the total cost of the toys is equal to or exceeds the fine amount (taxes not included).
The town will donate the toys to the Kinette Club of Wasaga Beach. The club will distribute the toys to families in need over the Christmas season.
For more information about the Toys for Tickets campaign, contact the Municipal Law Enforcement Department at 705-429-2511.
