The Coast Guard and The OPP are warning that ice-breaking activities will soon begin in Midland Harbour.
That means ice conditions will be changing in the areas of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny Township, and Christian Island.
Great Lakes shipping routes open this month, and it’s expected the freighter Frontenac will move from her winter mooring in Midland, once a Coast Guard icebreaker clears a path to Georgian Bay.
That will likely happen sometime next week.
