Southern Georgian Bay OPP say that one person has died following a shooting in Midland on Friday evening.
Just after 8pm, police were called to a King Street residence after gunshots were reported.
One person was taken to local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Investigators believe that the shooting was an isolated incident, and that there’s no broader threat to the public.
Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
